Dear Member,
This is my last communication to you as the President with
this issue I complete my term as a President of the Chamber. I can claim that my
term has been a journey of exploration and learning. The Chamber is a great
institution. The Chamber is an institution with tremendous potential and
strength. The term has been challenging and exciting.
I have tremendous admiration for the organization and it has
been a part of my extended family. I have been humbled and attempted to
discharge the duties to the best of my ability. During the year I have had the
opportunity to work closely with a few great men, senior members of the
profession like Shri V.H. Patil, Shri Inamdar, Shri Narayan Bhai, Shri Arvind
Bhai, Shri Kishorbhai — and others. They have been the pillars of the Chamber.
They were extremely supportive and deserve my salute. I am very much humbled by
the humility and modesty of the seniors. There is so much of sharing and harmony
and one is able to rub shoulder with seniors in the profession.
This Chamber’s journal "The Income Tax Review" is now
commanding a brand equity. My sincere appreciation to Shri Keshav Bhujle the
Editor and his editorial team.. Congratulations to Shri Keshav Bhujle and Shri
Vipin Batavia.
The Chamber’s programmes are designed to foster efficient
learning to develop skills and strengthen competencies. The Chamber has always
encouraged learning and growth. The committees put in great effort in bringing
to you a selection of the finest of the programmes, to meet up the challengers
and changes in the profession. It had been my endeavour to sensitize the members
to a sense of belonging and ownership of this great institution to which we all
belong. Our sense of belonging will add great strength and value to take this
institution forward. I acknowledge your support and express my sincere thanks to
you. I am sure you shall continue to extend your support and contribution to
Chamber’s activities. My humble appeal is to give a few hours of your time to
Chamber’s activity. There is tremendous talent and potential amongst the
members. One needs to harness and exploit the same.
My dear friends share your knowledge and contribution and I
am sure you will get in return ten times over, apart from the satisfaction of
having participated contributed and working for a cause and fellowship. I have
seen with great admiration the fellowship that is demonstrated by the members.
However there is also a growing concern. The fast changing business environments
is throwing up new challenges and opportunity. The Chamber will have to adapt
itself to the changing scenario. The members will also have to ensure that they
are able to continuously educate and upgrade themselves to encounter the new
challenges that the profession is exposed to. Make the Chamber as a vibrant and
a visible organization.
The term has gone by without a major hiccup was due to the
support and co-operation of the Members of the Managing Council. I take the
opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all the members of the Managing
Council, to all Chairmen of the various committees and more particularly to all
the Past Presidents for their benevolent guidance and support. My thanks to the
office bearers, ShriVipul Joshi, Shri.Manilal Simaria, Shr. Bhavesh Vora and
Shri Yatin Vyavaharkar and last but not the least the office staff. I would like
to end with a small quote by Mother Teresa which I read
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior
motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and
some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy
overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and GOD.
It was never between you and them anyway.
