Through this column, we have been communicating with you about, and keeping you abreast with, the events and the happenings that take place at the CITC. The events that have taken place from the previous issue of the Income Tax Review, upto 10th April, 2006, as also some of the important future events, are as under –

  1. Half Day Workshop on Finance Bill, 2006

    Direct Taxes Committee has organised half day workshop on Finance Bill, 2006 jointly with WIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on Saturday, March 11, 2006 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at M. C. Ghia Hall, 18/20, K. Dubhash Marg, Rampart Row, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai–400 023. CA.Arvind H. Dalal, Advocate Porus Kaka, and CA. Reepal G. Tralshawala addressed and explained the amendments of Finance Bill, 2006 to the delegates. Participants took active part in the WORKSHOP. Booklet on Finance Bill, 2006 were distributed.
     

  2. Study Circle Meeting

    The Study Circle Meeting for the year 2005-06 was held on Monday, March 13, 2006, on the subject “Finance Bill 2006 – Direct Taxes Provisions” where Advocate V.H. Patil has Chaired the meeting and CA. Mrs. Geeta Jani led the discussion. The meeting was very well attended.
     

  3. Lecture Meeting on “Indirect Taxes – Finance Bill, 2006”

    Indirect Taxes Committee has organised a Lecture Meeting on, 2006"on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. at Walchand Hirachand Hall, IMC, Churchgate, Mumbai, jointly with Central Excise & Customs Bar Association, Western Region Mumbai on the subject “Indirect Taxes – Finance Bill 2006, were Advocate Vikram Nankani and V. Shridharan had delivered lecture and explained amendments in Indirect Taxes and Service Taxes in Finance Bill, 2006. The participants has taken active part in the meeting.
     

  4. Full day seminar on “Tax Deduction at Source/Tax Collection at Source Reassessment & Recovery Proceedings”
    Education Committee has organised a Full Day Seminar on “Tax Deduction at Source/Tax Collection at Source” on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at M. C. Ghia Hall, Rampart Row, Kala Ghoda, Fort, Mumbai – 400 023. were CA. Sunil Kothari, CA. Jayant Gokhale, CA. Pradip N. Kapasi, Advocate Shri Keshav Bhujle, CA. Yogesh Thar gave their views on the various provisions on T.D.S. & T.C.S. with power point presentation. Mr. Koshy, Senior Vice President of NSDL Ltd. gave presentation on E-TDS software. There was Brain Trust session on TDS.& TCS Advocate Shri V.H. Patil & CA. Narayan Varma answered the queries. The participants has taken active part in the seminar.
     

  5. Self Awareness Series Meeting

    Public and Media Relations Committee has organised Self Awareness Series Meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at CITC Chamber, on the topic “Improving Your Interpersonal Relations with People” where Mrs. Aneeta Madhok, Dean- Organisational behaviour – NMIMS, gave some important aspect of relationship building with people at work place as well as in our social life. The meeting was very well attended.
     

  6. Indirect Tax Study Circle Meeting

    Indirect Taxes Committee has organised a Study Circle Meeting on the subject “SEBI- DIP GUIDELINES LAW ON DOMESTIC FUND RAISING AND LAW OF PUBLIC OFFERING” on Friday, March 24, 2006 at SNDT Conference Room, Ground Floor, New Marine Lines, Mumbai. Advocate Manish Desai addressed the delegates on the above referred subject with power point presentation. The meeting was very well attended and discussion was very lively.

  1. Study Group Meeting

    Study Circle & Study Group Committee has organised Study Group Meeting on the subject “Recent Case Laws” on Thursday, April 13, 2006, where Advocate Shri Keshav B. Bhujle is the speaker. The meeting will be held at Babubhai Chinai Committee Room 2nd Floor, IMC, Churchgate, Mumbai – 400 020. For further details, please refer April 2006 issue of CITC News.
     

  2. Indirect Taxes Meeting

    Indirect Taxes Committee has organised Study Circle Meeting on Friday, 21st April 2006 at SNDT Conference Room, Gr. Floor, New Marine Lines, Mumbai – 400 020, at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the subject “Service Tax. Issues VIS-À-VIS Construction Industry” CA. Bharat Shemlani is the speaker of this meeting.
     

  3. Study Circle Meeting

    Study Circle & Study Group Committee has organised Study Circle Meeting on Thursday, 27th April, 2006 at SNDT Conference Room, Gr. Floor, New Marine Lines. Mumbai – 400 020. on the subject “Taxation Aspects of TDR and FSI and Redevelopment of Society Buildings including Section 50C of the I.T. Act. 1961”. CA. Pradip N. Kapasi is Chairman & CA.   4. Lecture Meeting on Taxation of “Shares & Securities”

    Direct Taxes Committee has organised a Lecture Meeting on ”Taxation of Shares & Securities”on Friday, 16th June, 2006 at Babubhai Chinai Committee Room, 2nd Floor, IMC, Churchgate, Mumbai 400 020. CA. Gautam Nayak is speaker of this lecture meeting. For further details, refer April 2006 issue of the CITC News.
     

  5. 18th Education Course

    Education Committee has organised a 18th Education Course held on five Saturdays spread over June and July 2006 (half day) at M.C. Ghia Hall, 18/20 K. Dubash Marg, Rampart Row, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai- 400 023. The Course Fee is Rs. 1000/- for Members & Rs. 750/- for Articled clerks and assistants.   6. Half Day Seminar on New Amendments applicable to Assessment Year 2006-07

    Direct Taxes Committee has organised Half day Seminar on New Amendments Applicable to Assessment year 2006-07 on Saturday 24th June, 2006 at 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. at M.C. Ghia Hall, 18/20, K.
