From the President

Dear CTC Fellow Members,

The month that has passed after my taking over as President of the Chamber had been very hectic and was full of deliberations to formulate the action plans to fulfill this year’s motto "Envisioning Future Ensuring Competencies". The common goal for the year is to lay a path by envisioning future and thereby ensuring competencies.

Keeping this in mind various committees have been formed to meet the objective. Scope of some committees has been redesigned so as to focus more on critical areas. A new committee called "Corporate Members Committee" has been constituted specifically to cater to ever growing needs of corporate entities from our profession. It has also been perceived that visibility of the Chamber can be achieved by initiating more proactive measurers through the constant and enhanced use of technology.

On my visit to Delhi, I had an occasion to meet some of the members of Delhi Chapter, where we discussed on modalities of the future programmes. I was pleasantly surprised with the warmth and enthusiasm level of members there, which reassures that Chamber has huge potential to excel at far off places.

Many of you had a herculean task to fill the newly notified Income Tax Returns and still the difficulty continues. On receiving various suggestions Chamber has filed the writ petition before the Hon'ble Bombay High Court, challenging these new forms and the relevant notifications. The writ is pending for admission.

To enable the members and their staff to cope up with the recent amendment, "Tax Audits", a half day seminar has been organized as per detail given in CITC News of September. Other programmes are under finalization and you are requested to reap the benefits of the same.

The festival season has set in with the arrival of "Lord Ganesha". I wish everybody a very smoothing and satisfying season. I have already started receiving suggestion and views from the members on my mission of building the state-of-the-art – edifice for Chamber. But as usual, many more are still awaited. I am eagerly waiting to communicate with you. Kindly send your views on email ID president @citcindia.org.

Till the next issue," Good Bye."

Bhavesh Vora
President
