  1. Indirect Tax Study Circle Meeting

The Study Circle meeting was held on November 2, 2007 on the subject "CENVAT Credit for Service Providers Some Issues". The meeting was chaired by CA Bakul Mody and was led by CA Vishal Agarwal.

  1. Orientation Course on International Taxation:

The Orientation Course on International Taxation was held on Monday, November 5, 2007 on the Subject "Article 5 – Concept of Permanent Establishment". The course was addressed by CA Radhakishan Rawal.

  1. Seminar on “LARGE TAX PAYERS UNIT SCHEME

A half day Seminar on "LARGE TAX PAYERS UNIT SCHEME" was held on October 12, 2007 at IMC organized jointly by Law & Representation Committee and Allied Laws Committee along with IT Department, Excise, Customs and Service Tax Department, BCAS, WIRC of ICAI, and IMC. The seminar covered the information as to how and eligible unit will be able to reap benefits by opting for the LTU Scheme. The issues relating to Customs, Excise and Service Tax was addressed effectively. The seminar was addressed by Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, Mumbai, Mr. M. Dwivedi Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax, Mumbai, Chief Commissioner of Central Excise, Bangalore Zone and Chief Commissioner–LTU, Bangalore and others.

The seminar was very well attended by the Corporates and Members.

  1. 31st Residential Refresher Course – 7-10 February, 2008

The Residential Refresher Course and Public Relations Committee is pleased to announce its 31st RRC at the invigorating cool climate and scenic beauty of MOUNT ABU, a hill station tucked away in a cozy corner of the Aravalli ranges in Rajasthan. The RRC and PR Committee is pleased to announce a Boat Cruise on catamaran on Saturday, December 22, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.for the members with family across the chilled wind of winter over the Arabian Sea under the moonlight.

The enrolment for the Boat Cruise is closed.

  1. 2nd Service Tax Orientation Course

Service tax has become a very important source of revenue for the Government and an avenue of practice for the professionals. This course is designed to provide a thorough grounding on the law and practice of service tax through the medium of classroom type teaching by eminent faculty.

The course will equip its participants with the knowledge in the Law and Practice of Service Tax.

The course is a 36-hour course spanning over 6 – 7 weeks.
