  1. Study Circle Meeting

The fifth Study Circle Meeting for the year 2006-07 was held on October 4, 2006 on the subject “Fringe Benefit Tax”, where CA. Rajesh Kadakia chaired the meeting and CA. Sameer Moghul led the discussion. The meeting was very well attended.

  1. Lecture Meeting on “E-Filing Returns”

The Education Committee organised a Lecture Meeting on “E-Filing Returns” on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 where CA. Mahendra Sanghvi addressed the delegates. The seminar got enthusiastic response from members. The seminar was attended by 175 participants.

The Study Circle & Study Group Committee has organised sixth and seventh Study Circle Meetings for the year 2006-07 on Thursday, November 9, 2006 and Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 5.45 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. at SNDT Committee Room, SNDT Women’s University, New Marine Lines, Mumbai – 400 020. The Study Circle & Study Group Committee has organised sixth and seventh Study Group Meetings for the year 2006-07 on Friday, November 10, 2006 and Wednesday, December 6, 2006 from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. at Babubhai Chinai Committee Room, 2nd Floor, IMC, Churchgate, Mumbai – 400 020.   1. Seminar on “Co-operative Housing Societies”

The Allied Laws Committee and Direct Taxes Committee jointly with All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (Western Zone), Bombay Chartered Accountants Society, the Sales Tax Practitioners Association of Maharashtra and WIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has organised a full day seminar on “Co-operative Housing Societies” on Saturday, November 11, 2006. The Indirect Taxes Committee has organised Indirect Taxes Study Circle Meetings on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 and Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at SNDT Conference Room, Ground Floor, New Marine Lines, Mumbai – 400 020. For details, please refer November 2006 issue of the CITC NEWS.

The Education Committee and Direct Taxes Committee jointly with CVO Chartered & Cost Accountants’ Association has organised Seminar on “Assessment Proceedings – Legal & Practical Aspects” on Saturday, November 18, 2006. For details please refer November, 2006 issue of CITC NEWS.

  1. Orientation Course on “International Taxation”

The Study Circle & Study Group Committee has proposed to conduct an Orientation Course on “International Taxation” which begins from 1st week of December, 2006. It is also proposed to convert it into a regular Study Circle Meeting on International Taxation. The Committee has invited members to enrol for the Course.
