  1. Indirect Tax Study Circle Meeting

The IDT Study Circle meeting was held on January 17, 2008 on the subject “Set-off & Other Recent Developments under Maharashtra Vat Laws”. The meeting was chaired by CA Deepak Thakkar and was led by Shri Kantilal P. Jain, Advocate

  1. Full Day Seminar on Shares & Securities

Full day Seminar on Shares & Securities, was held on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at M.C. Ghia Hall, and was well attended by the members.

  1. Making your junior staff and Cpt Articles – Ready to work for you – Groom them young

A unique programme to kick start Article Clerks Career as Professional and to give edge and momentum to their learning a full day training session planned by the Education Committee was held on 18th December, 2007. The programme was inaugurated by CA Jayant Gokhale. The other speakers addressed the delegates were S/Shri. CA. Vipul Choksi, CA Atul Bheda, CA Nihar Jambusaria, CA Sunil Gabhawalla. There was Overwhelming response in attendance by the students and members which made the programme successful.

  1. Boat Cruise:

The RRC and PR Committee organised a Boat Cruise on catamaran on December 22, 2007 for the members with family across the chilled wind of winter over the Arabian Sea under the moonlight. There was an overwhelming response from the members. The members and their family enjoyed the Entertainment & Dance Party at the boat cruise.

  1. Orientation Course on International Taxation

The meeting was held on Thursday, January 3, 2008 on the subject “Article 7 – Business Profits”, which was lead by CA Yogesh Thar.

  1. Unveiling the Vision Statement & Release of CD of Income Tax Review (2002-07)

To experience the unique blend of Duty, Aspiration and Faith, all the members are Cordially invited to the function of Unveiling the Vision Statement by Shri S. E. Dastur, Sr. Advocate, & Release of CD of Income Tax Review (2002-07) by Shri Y. P.   1. 2nd Service Tax Orientation Course

The 36 hour course has been started on 5th January, 2008 and will be over on February 16, 2008 spanning over 6 – 7 weeks. The first session was held on January 5, 2008, The inauguration & key note address was delivered by Shri M. Dwivedi, IRS, and Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise, and Service Tax. The course was very well attended.

  2. Seminar on TDS has been organized by the Education Course Committee on March 15, 2008. Please refer CITC News of January, 2008 for further details or visit website on www.citcindia.org
