1. Indirect Taxes Committee
   
   Indirect Taxes Committee conducted the Meeting on “Union Budget – Provisions pertaining to Indirect Taxes with special reference to Service Tax”on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at IMC, Churchgate, Mumbai, where Shri Vikram Nankani, Advocate chaired the meeting and Shri Vipin Jain, Advocate led the discussion. The meeting was well attended.
    

2. Direct Tax Committee
   
   Direct Tax Committee had organised workshop on “Finance Bill, 2007” which was held on 10th March, 2007 at J.S. Lodha Auditorium, ICAI Bhavan, Cuffe Parade, Colaba, Mumbai – 400 005. Shri V.H. Patil, Advocate & CA Kishor Karia spoke on the subject. The meeting was organised jointly with the WIRC of ICAI. The meeting was well attended.Study Circle of Indirect Taxes meeting was held on Monday, 15th January, 2007 at CTC premises. The subject was Demands, Penalties, Appeals, Revisions, Recovery, etc., under Service Tax. Mr. Shailesh Sheth, Advocate spoke at the meeting. The response was very good for the meeting.
    

3. Study Circle Meeting (Indirect Tax)
   
   Indirect Tax Committee had organised Study Circle Meeting on “Inter Active Group Discussion on the Indirect Proposal of the Union Budget, 2007” at CTC Office on 16th March, 2007. Ms. Shilpa Sharma, Advocate spoke on the subject. The meeting was well attended.
    

4. Full Day Seminar on TDS
   
   The Education Course Committee had organised a full day seminar on TDS at M.C. Ghia Hall, 18/20, K. Dubhash Marg, Rampart Row, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai – 400 023 on 17th March, 2007. CA. Jayant Gokhale, CA. Yogesh Thar, CA. Himanshu Parekh and CTC Past President, Shri Keshav Bhujle, Advocate, spoke on various topics relating to TDS provisions. A live demonstration, “Compiling of TDS Returns through Accounting Software Tally”, was presented by CA. Ashwin Dedhia. The response was very good for the Seminar.
    

5. Self Awareness Series
   
   Membership and Public Relations Committee had organised a lecture on “Art of Living” in the Self Awareness Series at CTC, 3, Rewa Chambers, Gr. Floor, New Marine Lines,
   Mumbai – 400 020 on 21st March, 2007. Shri V.H. Patil, Advocate, spoke on the subject. The meeting was well attended.
    

6. Study Circle Meeting
   
   Study Circle & Study Group Committee had organised a Study Circle Meeting on 22nd March 2007 at SNDT Conference Hall. The subject was “Finance Bill, 2007”. CA. Kirit Sanghvi spoke on the subject. The response was very good for the meeting.
    

7. Study Group Meeting on 28th March, 2007
   
   Study Circle & Study Group Committee conducted the Meeting on “Recent Case Laws Penalty u/s. 271 (1) (c)” Wednesday, 28th March 2007, at Babubhai Chinai Committee Room, IMC, Churchgate (W), Mumbai. Shri Keshav Bhujle, Advocate spoke on the subject. The meeting was well attended.
